Reclaiming Black Femininity
Short Film
This video is a poetic exploration of the intimate, safe spaces Black women create for themselves, free from societal expectations of beauty. Through scenes of women braiding and unbraiding their hair, and moments of family connection, the video highlights how these acts of self-care and bonding are forms of empowerment and resistance. It celebrates Black women reclaiming their beauty on their own terms, emphasising community, identity, and authenticity.
